Detailed project description:
The objective of the project is to link Jeddah Islamic Port with the logistics area with Al-Khumra by designing an isolated track for trucks on King Faisal Road to transport the movement of trucks outside the city of Jeddah through the second ring road without the need to use the internal transport network of the city of Jeddah, which contributes to dismantling the current traffic jams and taking into account the areas Reverse roundabouts and signals on King Faisal Road.
The purpose behind the logistics area:
- Transfer of customs activities outside the port floor.
- Transfer of storage activities for containers (excluding transshipment containers) outside the port floor.
- By liberating the port floor from the previous activities, the remaining activities will become purely operational, which will create room for raising the operational efficiency of the port.
